"Not My Home"

(Lyrics)

Four walls, no peace, just clutter and mold,
Pots full of water, stinking and old.
Maggots dancing in the kitchen light,
We'd scrub till dawn to hide the sight.

Plates stacked high, like towers of shame,
A table that never knew my name.
Clean and dirty, clothes collide,
No room to breathe, nowhere to hide.

Two days to fake a life so neat,
While secrets rotted beneath our feet.
She pushed the filth under the rug,
And smiled like it was good enough.

But that was not my home, just a place I survived,
A trash can in disguise — I kept my soul alive.
Though I smelled like silence, soaked in fear,
I swore I’d build something clean, sincere.
I am not her mess, I am not that floor,
I don’t need chaos anymore.

Pee-soaked blankets, years too long,
Holding in the cry for something wrong.
Shame clung tight like a second skin,
A battle I never asked to begin.

She tried to hide, she tried to cope,
While I was drowning with no hope.
But even there, in all that grime,
I dreamed of something more in time.

I lit a match to that old lie —
That love means filth you can’t deny.
I scrubbed my name out from the mold,
And carved a space that’s mine to hold.

That was not my home, just a war I outgrew,
A place that never held what's true.
Now I walk on floors that shine with grace,
No secrets swept, no hidden space.
I am not her mess, I am my own door,
And I don’t need dirt to feel secure.

I clean with pride, I breathe with ease,
I make my bed, I find my peace.
That house was a lesson, not a throne —
I was born there, but now I’ve grown.
I am not her. I’ve made my home.
